Midcoast Boatyard and Marine use a HotVac system and laminate plane to repair osmosis hull damage. The system works by applying controlled heat under high vacuum conditions directly to the surface of the damaged hull. Absorbed water, acids, glycols and other organic compounds that cause corrosion, glass to resin bond weakening, delamination and blistering are removed by a process of activated diffusion prior to their subsequent vaporisation.
